Crossroads - Inhabiting The Word is the international artistic mobility project supported by the MIC - Ministry of Culture thanks to the public call BOARDING PASS PLUS 2021, by the Italian Cultural Institute of Delhi and the Italian Consulate of Calcutta in India. The project is conceived and promoted by Associazione Contart/DANCEHAUSpiù together with MILANoLTRE Festival, La Sfera Danza (Padua) and the Cultural Association Megakles Ballet/Festival "Incontri internazionali di danza contemporanea" (Catania/Lentini) with the special collaboration of the Eurasia Dance Project International Network directed by Stefano Fardelli: a network of 25 foreign organisations including festivals, companies, theatres and schools.
The main objective of Crossroads is the meeting between artists, practitioners and countries from different cultures, through a process involving artistic research, exchange of practices and the realisation of performances and round tables.
Thanks to the invaluable role of the Eurasia Dance Project International Network, the countries and foreign partners protagonists of this great project were chosen: LOYAC Lebanon in Lebanon, FDR Formal Dance Research in Mexico, Shoonya Dance Center in Belgium, Mbosse Danse Company in Senegal, Kolkata Centre for Creativity in India.
The main objective of Crossroads is the meeting between artists, practitioners and countries from different cultures, through a process involving artistic research, exchange of practices and the realisation of performances and round tables.
PROTAGONISTS OF THE PROJECT
DANCERS For the selection of the artists, consideration was given to the cultural and artistic background, geographical origin, aptitude for creation and intercultural exchange, as well as the participants' choreographic technique.
LOCAL ARTISTS A multidisciplinary artist for each local community of the non-European countries involved who will accompany each choreographer in his or her artistic process, crossing their respective research paths and generating a new original creation.
OPERATORS There will be four different operators to follow the artists in their residencies abroad and in the Italian stages with the role of tutoring and mentoring.
